Beauty Looks Like—Neily Dickerson
We are excited to introduce you to Neily Dickerson, Faith-Based Entertainment Executive and Producer, whose passion and life purpose is is enJOYing all that’s good in life. Growing from the challenges and embracing who she's become from and though it all.
As we wrap up Black History Month celebrating beauty, we invited Neily to take us through her personal journey in discovering “Beauty looks like ME!”
What does beauty look like to you? Beauty is embracing each stage of who I’ve become inside and out.
Tell us your journey to seeing beauty within yourself: I think the journey to seeing beauty is never ending, so I see it within it me daily. I was working out one day and noticed everyone looking at themselves in the mirror. Although I was standing in front of the mirror, I realized I wasn’t looking at myself. Now, more than ever, I look at and embrace all of me. .
What would you tell your 15 year old self about what beauty looks like? Dear Neily, right now you think beauty is clear skin, long hair, being skinny and if Reggie Arnold likes you. Although those physical attributes are included, beaYOUty is the essence of your spirit. It’s the smile you share with a stranger, the card you send to a friend letting them know you’re thinking of them, that inner confidence and courage that continues to evolve as you find your footing and draw from the strength of the four generation of women who paved the way for you. Thank you for starting us out on a great journey. You did an excellent job and I hope I’ve made you proud.
